A Line Cook is in charge of preparing and cooking food as well as setting up other necessary supplies. They make sure everything has been set up correctly before starting work. - Prepares food items by cutting, chopping, mixing, and preparing sauces.
- Cook food items by grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards.
- Follow all safety and health regulations.
- Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies.
- Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff.
- Answer, report, and follow executive or sous chef’s instructions.
- Clean up the station and take care of leftover food.
- Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion.
- Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and guests.
- Dedicated to upholding our standards of excellence and hospitality.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic understanding of or ability to learn sanitation and regulations for workplace safety.
- Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
- Must be able to work well as part of a team.
- Must be able to work well under pressure.
- Ability to maintain personal cleanliness.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Hold a Food Handler's Card, or the ability to obtain one.
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
- Cooking: 2 years (Preferred)
- Restaurant Experience: 2 years (Preferred)
- Prolonged periods walking or standing.
- Must be able to lift, carry, and place up to 50 pounds at a time.
- Must be able to work: 8 hours shifts, days, nights, weekends, overtime, and/or holidays as needed.
- Must be able to bend and stoop frequently.
- Must be able to work in a hot environment.
